How We Choose

Our recommendations are shaped by source-based research, clear disclosure, and the context that matters for a thoughtful gift.

Research starts with sources

We build guides from editorial research. That can include reviewing manufacturer information, retailer listings, product specifications, independent reporting, and other relevant sources. We use those sources to understand what a product is, who it may suit, and the details that matter for a particular gift decision.

We compare what matters for the guide

There is no single best product for every person or occasion. We compare options against the needs of the guide, such as purpose, features, price range, availability, giftability, and the tradeoffs a shopper may face. A product’s placement reflects that editorial context, not a universal ranking.

Affiliate relationships are disclosed

Some links may be affiliate links. If you buy through one of them, FaveSift may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not guarantee coverage, inclusion, or a favorable recommendation. When a guide includes affiliate links, we disclose that relationship clearly.

Prices and availability can change

Product prices, inventory, specifications, promotions, and retailer policies can change after publication. We aim to review guides over time, but details shown in a guide may not match the current retailer page. Confirm the price, availability, and product details before buying.

We correct and update material information

When we identify a material error or an important change, we update or remove the affected information when appropriate. Updates may reflect changes to a product, a retailer listing, availability, or the editorial context of a guide.

Recommendations are not hands-on claims unless stated

A recommendation reflects the source-based editorial research described here. It should not be read as a claim that FaveSift personally tested, used, or handled a product unless a guide specifically says so. Product descriptions and recommendations are not a substitute for your own judgment or the information provided by the seller.
